Legends of the Field

Welcome to our mini website New England Patriots Memorabilia. Here you will find a very diverse collection of New England Patriots memorabilia. Here you will also find current news and videos about the New England Patriots. We provide three sources for memorabilia.

One source is memorabilia currently being sold on eBay. We also have two stores where you can select memorabilia from a very diverse collection. One is the New England Patriots Store. This store has a wide selection of memorabilia, photos, and books. The other is our Football Fanatics Store. Our Football Fanatics Store provides memorabilia from all NFL teams, and also some college teams.

Other then eBay itself, we are the only source that we know of which offers current bids for memorabilia during a real time auction which is taking place on eBay. We are an affiliate of eBay and therefore we can focus on New England Patriots memorabilia currently selling on eBay.

You might ask, why not just go directly to eBay to buy New England Patriots memorabilia? Yes, you can do this, but here we have provided additional information which is most likely interesting to the New England Patriot fan. Here you will find the most current New England Patriot news, and New England Patriot videos. Point being, this site is New England Patriot oriented. If you are a Pat’s fan, and you are looking for anything that has to do with the New England Patriots, you will probably find what you are looking for here at our site. If not through eBay, then most likely you will find it at one of our stores.

Up until the Super Bowl of 2008, the 2007 New England Patriot team was considered by many sports experts as being one of the, if not the best NFL team ever produced. But as all New England Patriot fans know, the devastating defeat in the Super Bowl of February 2008 changed that. New England Patriot fans will need time to get over that loss, considering that they almost made sports history but came up short. I believe the Patriots focused to greatly on having a undefeated season and therefore expended themselves to the point where they just did not have enough to complete the job. Just like in a marathon, you need to save your best for last.

In the first half of the 2007 season, they were running over teams. In retrospection, maybe a couple of losses in the regular season would have been a benefit in the end, when what really matters is a win in the Super Bowl. In any case, the New England Patriots will return to the Super Bowl, and they will never forget that devastating defeat in Super Bowl 2008. The NY Giants took away a chance for the Patriots to make sports history by having a perfect season, and that indeed will never be forgotten. They will return to the Super Bowl, hopefully soon, and they will be victorious.

As the new season approaches, the New England Patriots no longer have to deal with more spygate type issues. Arlene Specter, the US Senator for Pennsylvania, has decided to drop his pursuit of investigations into these type issues. Given the major problems that exist in the United States, not to mention global issues, it’s about time Arlene Spector decided to pursue issues of greater national importance. Spygate was an NFL issue which has and is currently being addressed by the NFL. That is how it should be.

The NFL has punished the New England Patriots in terms of the New York Jets taping incidence, which occurred in the first game of the 2007 season. A message has been sent across the NFL and that is it, case closed. Now with spygate and taping issues behind them, the Patriots can now focus on the new season. With most of the New England Patriot players returning, and with key acquisitions, this makes for a very interesting 2008 season. I am not saying that distracting issues will not arise, because distractions are part of professional football today. But the Patriots have the uncanny ability to focus, even when distractions are present. Remember, the New England Patriots are still in the process of making sports history, and still may prove to be the best team ever seen in the NFL. Time will tell.

For the New England Patriots the obvious objective will be to take care of unfinished business from the last season. Hopefully there will be less worry about going undefeated, and more focus on achieving the ultimate prize, another Super Victory. And if that takes place, maybe indeed the Patriots will go down in history as the greatest football dynasty in the history of the sport.

In terms of the ticket resell front, the legal battle between StubHub and the New England Patriots continues. Last fall, StubHub began turning over more than 13,000 names to the Patriots, and StubHub spokesperson Sean Pate told TicketNews that, “Since January 27, 2007 (the last date through which information was previously produced to the Patriots) StubHub has had 10,452 new users engaged in listing, selling, bidding on and buying Patriots home game tickets” on the site. So even though StubHub has turned over names to the Patriots, this is not curtailing the resell of tickets online. Patriot tickets are still being sold across the web. As a matter of fact, compared to last year at this time, sales have even increased. The Patriot organization can only keep so many fingers on the holes in the dam, and it is highly unlikely they can stop the flow across the web in terms of ticket resell.

When a fan buys a ticket, he or she she should be able to do what they want with it. I suspect that the Patriot organization argues that if a fan buys a ticket, and the value of that ticket goes up, then the Patriot organization should receive the profit. If that is the case, if you buy a stock in a company, and the value of that stock goes up, then the company should receive the profit from that stock? Of course not. The stock holder receives the profit, assuming the stock is sold at a price which is higher then what it was bought at. A ticket can be looked at as a stock in the company. In a stock, if the value of that company goes up, the value of the stock goes up, and the share holder is entitled to a profit. If the value of the Patriot organization goes up, and that is reflected in an increase value for a ticket, then the ticket holder should be entitled to a profit. Just as in a stock, the initial buying of the ticket produces revenue for the company, in this case, the Patriot organization.

Patriot home games are sold out for many years, and if a fan wants to see a Patriot game, the ticket must be bought from one who already has a ticket. Greater ticket availability, greater fan interest, which helps the Patriot organization. I believe that the courts will in the end favor the consumer, and will allow resell of the Patriot tickets. Scalping of tickets at sporting events has been going on since the beginning of professional sports. Doing it online simply makes it easier, and I suspect that the practice will continue, and I suspect that the online reselling of tickets will continue to grow.

Below is current New England Patriot memorabilia being sold on eBay. If you have an interest in purchasing an item, click on the ad and you will be taken to the current eBay auction page for that item. Oh, and good luck on your bidding. If you can not find an item you are looking for below, go to our New England Patriots Store, or our Football Fanatics Store. Both of these stores provide a large selection of New England Patriots memorabilia, photos, posters, and books.

Boston.com -- New England Patriots news

Pats not overly concerned by poor exhibition games
The New England Patriots played poorly on offense in their first exhibition game. The offense and defense were shaky in the second game.
Pollard given his release
It was out with the old and in with the new at Gillette Stadium yesterday, as the Patriots released 36-year-old veteran tight end Marcus Pollard and filled his roster spot by signing 23-year-old rookie tight end Tyson DeVree , who returns for a second stint after being released June 11.
Cassel handles pressure
Matt Cassel stood tall in the pocket and didn't pass. The Tom Brady-like crush of media that enveloped Cassel yesterday fired off question after question about the beleaguered backup's poor play in the preseason, which has contributed to the Patriots scoring a total of 25 points in two games.
Patriots backup QB Matt Cassel fired up by critics
Matt Cassel is aware of his critics. They say the New England Patriots are finished if Tom Brady misses games and he has to take over for a long period. They look at his preseason statistics and reach the same conclusion.
Life without Brady?
Successful football teams usually have one common link – solid play from quarterbacks. Few would disagree that quarterback is the most important position on a football team. It just might be the most important position in all of team sports.
Sorry exhibition by Patriots
The only reasonable explanation for the abysmal play of the Patriots in their first two preseason games is that the real players have been replaced by impostors - pigskin poseurs who are unable to generate scoring drives, prevent turnovers, make tackles, and execute assignments.
James Busch Orthwein, at 84; onetime owner of Patriots who set stage for team resurgence
Best known in New England for his brief ownership of the Patriots - and for selling the football team to Robert Kraft - James Busch Orthwein was also a world-class fisherman, and one fish story tells much about the reticence he brought to his abbreviated tenure in the spotlight of Boston professional sports.
Brady may miss Eagles game
Tom Brady said yesterday he's not certain whether he'll be sufficiently recovered from a right foot injury to participate in the Patriots' third exhibition game, which is Friday at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Pats' Brady unsure if he'll miss 3rd straight game
Quarterback Tom Brady isn't sure if a foot injury will sideline him from the Patriots' third exhibition game Friday night after he sat out the first two.
Best policy: Keep top QB healthy
TAMPA - It was a night to test out insurance policies. Based on the returns, the Patriots better hope they don't need the backup.
He's still a big hit in Tampa
TAMPA - John Lynch may have been decked out in Patriots colors last night but for many of the red-clad 63,365 fans at Raymond James Stadium, the sight of Lynch's No. 47 brought back fond memories of the Buccaneers glory years, of which Lynch was a key cog.
Meriweather injures his leg
TAMPA - It wouldn't be a Patriots season if they weren't dealing with injuries in the secondary. The latest defensive back rendered hors de combat was second-year safety Brandon Meriweather , who suffered a leg injury last night in a 27-10 exhibition loss to the Buccaneers.
Ship takes on more water
TAMPA - The Patriots hope last night won't be the last time they play at Raymond James Stadium this season. The Pirate-paraphernalia-filled football palace will play host to Super Bowl XLIII Feb. 1.
Backup QBs shine in Bucs' 27-10 win over Patriots
No Tom Brady equals little offense for the New England Patriots this preseason. With the 2007 MVP sitting out for the second straight week, the defending AFC champions sputtered with backup Matt Cassel running the show in a 27-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night.
Brady (foot) doesn't make Tampa trip
The Patriots play the Buccaneers in Tampa tonight, but quarterback Tom Brady did not make the trip. Brady remained in the New England area because of a sore foot, according to an NFL source.
Sibling revelry: Ruuds cheer for each other
Some might see the Patriots' preseason tilt with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight as a meaningless exhibition game, a superfluous summer sampler to the NFL season. But for rookie linebacker Bo Ruud and his older brother, Tampa Bay linebacker Barrett Ruud, any moment they're together, even if it's on opposite sidelines of a football field, is meaningful.
Patriots sign 9-time Pro Bowl safety John Lynch
John Lynch thought he'd end his football career with the Denver Broncos. Now the veteran safety and nine-time Pro Bowl pick, who spent four seasons with Denver after 11 years with Tampa Bay, has signed with the New England Patriots.
Patriots, Lynch have history
John Lynch and Bill Belichick have admired each other for a while now.
Offensive bar set high for Moss & Co.
Randy Moss now knows how the cornerbacks lined up across from him feel before the snap of the ball - nervous.
Patriots sign Lynch
John Lynch thought he'd end his football career as a Denver Bronco. Now the veteran safety and nine-time Pro Bowl pick, who spent four seasons with Denver after 11 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has signed with the New England Patriots.
Patriots sign Lynch
The New England Patriots have signed nine-time Pro Bowl safety John Lynch. Lynch, a 15-year veteran, spent the first 11 years of his career with Tampa Bay and the last four years in Denver. His career totals include 1,277 tackles, 13 sacks and 26 interceptions.
This time, Patriots hit mark
A second shot at John Lynch has put him in the Patriots' secondary.
Webster may be turning corner
The Patriots' depleted cornerback corps could be getting a reinforcement. Coach Bill Belichick said yesterday that Jason Webster , who has not practiced since July 26 because of a hamstring injury, could be close to returning.
Patriots sign OL Sene, release WR Dunlap
The New England Patriots have signed offensive lineman Stephen Sene and released wide receiver Chris Dunlap.
Pats need safety help, may have found it in Lynch
Nine-time Pro Bowl safety John Lynch took a physical with the New England Patriots, who need secondary help after being hit by injuries.
Here's a tip: Be ready
Few plays cause mayhem like a tipped pass. Players scramble like a mosh pit at a heavy metal concert, with the sides clobbering each other to grab the lofted pigskin. It can get pretty rough.
Lynch would be safety valve
They wanted to get faster on defense this year, and at the same time inject some much-needed youth into the mix. The early returns from training camp indicate the objective has been achieved.
Brady is looking to get started
After sitting out last Thursday's exhibition opener against the Ravens, quarterback Tom Brady said he's eager to return to action, starting Sunday in Tampa against the Buccaneers.
